The Jockey.com was launched back in 1999 by Donnie Miller Jr, winner of the 1983 Preakness Stakes on Deputed Testamony at Pimlico Race Course. He launched the site initially for fun and to learn something new after having to retire early at the age of 33 due to a racing injury that affected his hearing. Watching the site grow over the years, it became clear there was a strong interest in the site by horse racing and jockey enthusiast.
The site has gone through several iterations over the years, with a number of down years when Donnie became involved in running one the largest real estate auction companies on the east coast. Now, having downsized and started a new company to spend more time with his wife Sharon and young daughter Olivia, he’s found the time to make the site a one-stop shop with information about jockeys for racing enthusiasts around the globe.
This site is dedicated to the currently active young up and coming Jockeys, the seasoned veteran and let’s not forget the retired jockeys who, over over the years, have guided the most beautiful animals in the world to victory in the most high-stakes, pressure-packed sporting events in the world – thoroughbred horse racing!
